Professional Development Training to be provided to individuals and organizations working with youth 10-24 years old in Maricopa County (PHPQ 19031)

Collective STEP for Youth serves as the “backbone” agency working to build capacity within youth-serving organizations to prevent teen pregnancy and enhance adolescent health and wellbeing.  Supported by the Maricopa County Department of Public Health (MCDPH) and a grant from the Office of Adolescent Health (OAH), Collective STEP for Youth offers professional development, technical assistance, and a coalition.  Participants are a Community of Practice made up of partners collaborating to improve the health and wellbeing of adolescents ages 10-24 years in Maricopa County.

In July 2015, Collective STEP for Youth received a grant from OAH to provide capacity building assistance (CBA) to decrease the teen birth rate in Maricopa County by building the capacity of youth-serving organizations to implement evidence-based teen pregnancy prevention interventions and coordinate the system of youth-serving organizations in order to ensure better outcomes for youth, particularly in the area of adolescent health and teen pregnancy prevention.

This application process will allow youth-serving organizations to be equally eligible to provide training services to the Community of Practice (CoP). The maximum amount for each award may not exceed $6,000.
