Maryvale Adolescent Providers Partnership (MAPPs)
MAPPs is a collaborative partnership made up of over 100 west valley non-profit service providers, schools, government agencies, faith communities, and local police and fire. MAPPS meets monthly, coordinated by MRC, to analyze and address the multi-generational needs of Maryvale’s citizens and acts to facilitate the deployment of services.Learn More
Youth Strong Maryvale
Youth Strong Maryvale are service projects that leverage the talent and energy of over 500 youth and adult volunteers to complete a large-scale community revitalization project in a single day. Since 2012, this program has painted and landscaped a total of 240 homes, completed an extreme home makeover, improved the curb appeal of over 1,000 homes, created safe walking paths for children to travel to and from school, created safe and engaging places for thousands of students and teachers and installed and planted numerous community gardens.Learn More
HEROs: Help Everyone Realize Opportunity within themselves, others and their communities. HERO U is a three-part youth development program specifically designed for Maryvale 8th and 9th grade students. Youth are introduced to HEROs in all forms, igniting inspiration to be the best versions of themselves for the purpose of growing others and growing the Maryvale community. This unique and comprehensive program inspires students to higher levels of learning and career engagement by introducing leadership, STEM and entrepreneurial skills in fun, engaging and relevant methods.Learn More
Maryvale Cre8s In the Kitchen is a free program that includes cooking, nutrition and grocery shopping classes for low-income youth and families who are at risk of hunger and nutrition-related health issues. Bringing familiarity and education around nutritious food, Maryvale Cre8s helps decrease the waste of fresh food resources and prepares families for a lifetime of healthy cooking and eating. Maryvale Cre8s extends beyond the kitchen, including facilitating opportunities for youth and families through music and arts classes.
This inaugural event slated for fall 2019 will be an epic celebration of Maryvale Life. Everyone is invited to experience the good life in our village with a parade, festival, culinary delights, arts, entertainment, music and more.
Maryvale beams with everyday heroes who are passionately serving this community. MRC will shine a light on the stories of these leaders during an inspiring evening under the stars. Event date, nominations and ticket information coming soon.
MRC partners with community leaders, such as The Center for the Future of Arizona and Arizona Office of Economic Opportunity, to host collaborative discussions and strategy sessions with industry leaders to create workforce readiness and pathway programs. Designed to increase employment opportunities and economic development in Maryvale, these solutions address the “War for Talent” as part of the Governor’s Workforce Arizona Council Initiative.
